Our Beelive group met up one day before the hand in tomorrow to finalise our animation, production bible and blogs. The last few elements we needed were voice over tracks for the facts, as well as, Kierans animated assets. We would also need to finish the making of video. I had recently added a music track to the video which I asked one of my old high school friends Mohades Chaundry to make. He's a 3rd year student at University of Bolton doing computer and website development but also does music tracks on Garage band as a hobby.
This track he made for us was originally made for the animation but Stephen said it didn't fit the animation so I found a better use for it. I had also added some more transitions using the bee. Stephen suggested to alter the text on the title cards to a more bold text and have a shape placed behind it to make it more clearer to the viewer.
With these refinements added we focused on Kierans animated assets. Stephen helped him how he could while I work on the production bible. I looked back to the power point about the production bible which Annabeth showed us in the first few weeks. I got concerned when I noticed that there were some things I hadn't included such as an animation pipeline and a colour ways sheet. So I did these using Photoshop. However Stephen and I were at odds about it he didn't like the way I was laying it out.
This was because I wasn't sure what came where in the pipeline and felt I needed some help from our team leader. However I could see that he was split between helping me and Kieran. So he decided to do the pipeline and I stayed focus on the Production bible. I still had work to rewrite the intro for our animation with a little help from Stephen.
We looked at Kierans work and I could see that Stephen was teaching him to use animate with a little help from me. He was starting to make progress but I felt he needed to work harder so we could move onto animating the humans.
Over break I recorded my voice over using the facts Stephen had written down on the group chat. However when I transferred them to the computer I could see they were rather long since I did add a few more words to sound engaging to the audience. Stephen and I looked over this and added all the voice overs to decide which ones to cut and which ones to keep. I cut some of them down using the blade tool especially in gaps where I had to take a breath.
I even used the amplifier preset to make it a little louder so it could be heard over any music or effects we put in.
I was feeling rather assured with someone else looking over my work to help make it better. Stephen had soon finished the pipeline and I looked over and suggested what to place in such as the software we used. I included it into the bible and a screenshot of the scheduling.
I could see that my work was nearly finished as was the making of and animation. I would need to discuss my work with Annabeth in case I had missed anything. Stephen and I looked over the Youtube audio library for music to use.
Our ideal music would be fast paced and something 12 year olds would like. One inspirational source was a song from classic Sonic The Hedgehog.
We looked through each song one by one using key words happy, nature and racing. I was getting a little irritated when Stephen kept saying no to some good songs I had selected but some I did disagree on. This was very time consuming but we soon found a track called Corperation Motivation. It was fast paced and sounded like something twelve year olds would engage with we tested it against the animation and we agreed to use it. However that did mean sacrificing the sound effects I'd placed in of a bee buzzing and a crashing sound even though I protested vigorously.
However my work was nearly finished and I felt I was on track. However one element I was concerned about was Kierans progress on his blogs and animation, I hope that Kieran will do the dogs and humans but in the event he couldn't do the sunbathers Stephen and I had a contingency plan, we would do a breeze of air blowing open the door.
Looking back I could see we were starting to get on track ready for submission in terms of the animation, making of vid and production bible. I could see my side of the submission work was starting to come together, and how all my hard work was beginning to pay off, as well as having a second pair of eyes on my work from my teammates was extremely helpful. In hindsight I was wondering if I could've done more to help Kieran with Animate in terms of animating the dog. However though I had doubts I couldn't let them shake my confidence as people can surprise you if given the chance.
In conclusion our project work for the bible and making of video, were beginning to come together as well as the animation with hope that the remaining elements would come together. In future I shall make sure to provide whatever support I can to my teammates who need help with animation software, and try to better reason with my team leader.
