In week 11 of our group project we worked on producing voice recordings for our making of video. Stephan our team leader, had created a list of what to include and who would talk about what. For example Stephan would talk about the 3D side of the project, Kieran the script and storyboards and myself the concept art and 2D animation.
In working on the written scripts for each section we supported each other. However I felt that Stephan was rather making it hard for us to simplify what we wrote down in the script. This made me feel a little confused and frustrated. I could see it was hard for Kieran to grasp what we were suggesting he'd say in his part of the list and so we helped him simplify his work.
One thing I felt frustrated with was not knowing some of the animation principles we'd used in the animation and how even after first year I wouldn't know them. So Stephen helped us with a refresher course. However I was confused by his definition of anticipation and follow through because you anticipate the characters going to do something and then moves to do it in the follow through. He was able to simplify his explanation helping in my script.
In the session Kieran had disappeared leaving Stephan and I to do our recordings on our own accord. I was feeling rather annoyed that Kieran wasn't with us for this as we needed to work as a team. I recorded mine on my phones voice memos and felt relieved that this was done.
Looking back over the session I could see there were some areas of improvement, one of which being the simplifying of our words as we did long paragraphs rather than short simple sentences for our videos time frame. I personally thought I needed to improve on my delivery of a script as Stephan thought I put more words into a simple sentence. He was right this was something I remembered from my Animation history video essay in the first year.
I could see the sense of simplifying our words as we needed to fit them into a ten minute long making of video.
In hindsight we could've done better if we had done the script before hand we'd be better prepared. In addition if we were all together we could do all our voice recordings in one instead of one by one.
In conclusion we had our recordings and Stephan could proceed in adding them to the making of video. In future I think we need to make sure we're all together when doing our tasks so that we don't miss anything for our project or making of piece.
