For my project I decided to conduct some research into magazine articles for possible layout ideas in my final essay, I've decided to conduct it using images from google and from magazines I have seen in stores such as WHSmith. By analysing these magazine articles they seem rather heavy on images and text, but I'm going to see if I can create a balance of the two whilst at the same time adding some creativity of my own work for either the cover or background page.
What I like about the layouts is how for some pages its one large page or double page spread with an article in the image itself along with a description of what or who it is about. This maybe an element to consider in my own article. One issue I could possibly address was for me not to be too bias about my subject and include the opinion of others and to not use too much of my own work. I would possibly need to consult with Johny on this matter before I select pieces to include in this essay.
Out of my research into magazine layouts I did find out about a concept artist named Paul Sullivan who did the artwork for films such as The Book of Life and games such as Sly Cooper and Tomb Raider. This was a surprise which also presented itself as an opportunity for further research.
From these articles I shall sketch out some potential ideas and do some dummy examples in Indesign to show to my tutor for a second opinion before coming to a final decision.

In Scritwriting script to screen Annabeth had brought in some magazines or books to look at and one magazine caught my eye named Concept artists and so I took a look at the magazine to see if it could be of use. I could see that it contained words from famous concept artists such as Brandon Russel, and I realised that this could be of use to me in writing my magazine article and to include the words of an expert and widen my research funnel beyond art of books or the internet. This also helps me in terms of magazine layout as it also shows sketches of character and background ideas which could help in structuring my research and essay.
This was an excellent find so I purchased it for further research and I knew it would be of help in the coming few weeks.
