The first day of week one at uni had begun with Animation context where we were briefed about what we would be doing in the next few weeks. The module task was to create a magazine style article about a topic within animation that we personally had an interest in and conduct research into our chosen field to write up said article. Though some areas of the brief were hard to process I managed to isolate certain elements such as the task and what we had to use for referencing and develop a personal view on our subject. In my case it would be the field of concept art within animation movies, such as how the artists interpret the ideas of the movies creator into character, background and scene designs and how they use their own unique style. Much of this is seen in many an animation studio like Dreamworks and Disney how they interpret old fairy tales and creative stories in their own view such as Frozen which was the interpretation of the snow queen (Han Cristian Anderson 21st December 1844) but taken in their interpretation of sisters trying to reconnect after so many years apart.
I have a personal interest in concept art and use it to develop scene ideas in many of my own stories be it fan or original such as my current story The Artist and the Mermaid.

During my college FMP I used concept art methods such as scene direction and ideas to interpret one of my more developed scenes which I titled an experience like no other where the two main characters went for a swim to see the wonders of the deep sea.
This was a way of interpreting my creativity as all concept artists do and helps me to determine the use of the scene in the story for use or not much like the deleted scenes from many films.
For our assignment we were asked to watch Spinal tap and whilst it was clips I could see a funny side to their interpretation of stone henge. I think the idea of this was to see how the creators interpreted this idea into their film for their chosen genre. We were told not to work in a vacuum so I may consult with my class mates and tutors on my chosen idea and my reason for using it and given we could use indesign I thought this could put my knowledge of booklets and creative composition to work. Even though this would be a PDF document.
However many people interpret tasks as they may and take many approaches so I shall take this approach both digital and print. Whilst I have had trouble understanding some of the brief requirements listening to the lecture again has granted insight and understanding to my appointed task. In this brief we were told to not only rely on sources like wikipedia as sometimes it can be edited information and incorrect, thankfully there were sources in books and other websites and videos that could be of use for my chosen subject. I have already begun to mind map my chosen idea and what I could research and interpret, this was what I was able to take away from this lecture and hope it will aid me in the weeks to come.
