Intro to the Making of: Week 7: 13/3/18: Work review and considerations.

Week 7's session of Intro to the making of, the group was presenting a progress report on their projects and what we had plan for the course of the next few weeks of this module. We had them presented on computers and we went round seeing what their intended video essays would be about. I was rather interested in others projects, such as Hollys intention to create a VR rain forest using what we'd learned about VR tech from the maker space and Maya. I even got to experience what it was she was going to do in her prototype and it was amazing. Kira seemed focused on doing an animation around the theme of a ballet dancer animation which was of interest to me as I was doing a ballet theme for my story telling project.

Other projects were based around a more automotive theme such as Stephan's who wanted to create a car cannon of some sort. Whilst Jolantas was focused on a more practical based essay of creating lightboxes with interesting patterns. When I was showing, my project of doing a simple brief history of animation I did receive some feedback about the origins spanning back further than the magic mirror device something that I should've remembered from my research. It was clear I would need to consider what to look at for my video essay. We were reminded that we could use the green screen room over easter to do what we needed to do for the essay and I would when I had a script and storyboard for my work, along with a functioning Zoetrope apparatus.

In hindsight I was a little nervous giving my presentation and wasn't sure of what to say to describe my work and my intended outcome. I spent the remainder of the session doing some pose sheets for my Storytelling project on my character Joseph. Whilst working I designed some poses that I would use in the feature length novel version  over the summer break such as a recent idea I had to have Joseph in a suit to have an audience with Elise's farther near the end of the story. I felt I was making progress on my character pose sheets and even using reference of what to do from pose sheets that others had created to give me an idea of what needed to be placed onto them. I was proceeding to start Elises pose sheet until the session had come to an end. Looking back I would think that I learned a lot about other peoples intentions for their video essays and the feedback on my work proved most helpful. In future I shall check to make sure I've included all the facts about what to include in my work and explain in further detail about my intentions.
