Upon completing my 2D ping pong ball animation I set to work on doing a Maya ball bouncing animation using a bowling ball as the ball weight. Having used a bowling ball in the past I realised that there wouldn't be many bounces within the balls impact on the ground. To confirm this I looked up a reference video of a bowling ball and upon watching it I could see that it was a heavy ball dropping to the ground with about approximately 3-4 small bounces.

I set up the animation and placed a polygon ball into the frame and using the selection tool I moved the ball upwards to a height to drop it at. I set the keyframes selecting the key channels and selecting key selected selecting each channel rather than selecting them all at once which was advised against on the first day of the course when we were learning to use Maya.
Through the animation process I made sure that the dropping bounce was heavy enough to hit the floor and the bounces as close to the made ground as possible to make it look realistic. When the frames were in place I set the frames in place to show movement within the ball bouncing and this was on the translate X channel as remembering from last week the key to showing movement within the balls bouncing movement was in the ending of the bounce at the start of the animation and at the end of it these key frames were set and then at the ending frame I moved the ball across and when playing the animation it created the influence of movement within the animation. To make sure everything was in order before I play blasted the animation I checked the graph editor to make sure that everything was in sync and move smoothly.
I checked it and I first thought it looked in order and the smoothness of the animation looked simple enough. However I would later discover that it wasn't in order and that I forgot one important element in this kind of animation process. Looking back its clear that this would've been the easiest animation of the exercises however, from experience some things appear easy at first but as we progress down the road of development they are much more harder to perform than we first thought them to be. I felt that there would be some feedback needed on this animation to help me refine it further in the lesson tomorrow. I would think perhaps more time would be needed on these ball exercises rather than get them done in one night this would need to be something to look over and develop over the week, I will attempt to do this approach and do bar sheets for my animations that I've done both maya and stopmotion as this was a requirement of the brief.
In conclusion its clear that I needed to remember some of the crucial aspects of the animation process in terms of the ball weights and try and refine and understand what I was looking at to produce the best animation for submission.
